Obituary of Kate T. Coller

Age 44, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, after a courageous 2-year battle with cervical cancer. Kate was born in Sayre PA, a daughter of Sheila Hart Zulkosky and the late John Zulkosky, Jr. Kate is also predeceased by her husband Donald P. Coller. In addition to her mother, Kate is survived by her beloved daughters, Anna M. and Lucy M. Coller; siblings, and their families, Margaret A. and Mark Agan of Chagrin Falls OH, and children, Kate, John and Rebekah; Andrew J. and Kristen Zulkosky of Landisville PA, and their daughters, Danielle and Lindsey; Ruth Z. Rutledge of Lansdale PA with Robert Mortimer, and her sons, Henry and Theodore; Patricia J. and Vincent DeSisti of Sayre PA, and their children, Emily, Sam and Andrea; Stephen J. Zulkosky and wife Emily Keyes of Durham NC and their daughter Eliza; mother-in-law and father-in-law Sarah and Paul Coller of Columbia PA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Paula and Tim McAdoo of Landisville PA and daughters, Amanda and Morgan; along with many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Kate was a graduate of Sayre High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree, in Education, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was a Physical Education teacher at the Alternative School for Math and Science in Corning. Her career enabled her to combine her passions of personal fitness and educating others. First and foremost Kate was a loving mother to her two beautiful daughters. She was an outdoor enthusiast--a runner, cyclist, and triathlete. With her daughters Kate enjoyed time on Keuka Lake, walks at Tanglewood and along the Chemung River as well as annual trips to Ocean City, MD. Prior to teaching in Corning, Kate worked at CIDS in Elmira and was a La Leche League leader for several years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. Those wishing may remember Kate with a donation to either, La Leche League of Chemung Valley, 11 Woodlawn Drive, Big Flats NY 14814 or SPCA, Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
