I had been out of touch with Pat for a long time, and was grateful when he tracked me down to include me in our group of Physics folks from St. Bonaventure. That alone shows what a caring friend he was. I remember back in college he let me stay with him over a break so I could keep working on a computer program for class. Pat gave me help on the finer points of programming. My condolences to Carolyn, Anthony and all his family. He will be missed.

I first met Pat at St. Bonaventure when I was an incoming graduate physics student. Pat had graduated the year before me and was in the Bona computer science department. Pat was really the center of the grad Physics program at Bona. We all gravitated around him and we had the best of times.
Gathering at Pats house (all the time) to watch pirated cable movies Monty Python and the Holy Grail, especially). Pat had built a Heathkit TV and was able to “tune” in to the local cable company. I think we memorized the entire script of MP & the HG.
Gathering again at Pat’s for little pizzas and killer lasagna, Pat was an amazing cook and I still use his tomato sauce recipe.
Pat was always involved in our grad thesis projects and helped out everyone there. He would accompany me to Alfred University’s observatory for late night observations (with other of our grad buddies).
We would play paper ball in the spring/summer. That’s a wad of masking tape to look like a ball and we would use a waffle ball bat to hit it. Pat loved playing that. If I recall, we played it in the Bona Physics hallways when no-one was looking. Pat was a great skier. He once took me and Jimmy Sorce (undergrad physics) to the slopes. We failed miserably and eventually hung out at the lodge drinking hot chocolate till Pat was done. We never became skiers, but thanks, Pat, for showing us the slopes!
Those years with Pat were some of the best. So much so, that Pat was the ring leader in organizing Bona Physics grads for reunions. If not for Pat we probably wouldn’t have had those gatherings. For over 50 years we all stayed friends and when we got together we would pick up conversations as if we just talked yesterday, even though it may have been years.
There will by no one like Pat. He had so many stories (don’t know how he remembered them all) and a quirky humor that kept us all laughing and not take things too seriously. He was an eternal optimist. Pat was a wonderful friend, human being, compassionate, caring, and devoted to his friends and us to him. He will be missed.

I met Pat when I spent a year in graduate school at St. Bonaventure. I had a wonderful time there, in no small part because of Pat's friendship and camaraderie. We skied where he humbled me, played basketball where I humbled him, and cheered on the men's basketball team on their path to the NIT championship. He even joined me in laughing a model rocket that landed on the roof of the SBU gym. Once a week a group would meet at his home to watch Saturday Night Live and Pat would serve pasta and broccoli topped with butter and Sardo cheese. It was delicious and led to my addiction to Sardo. Sometimes he would make pesto to put on the pasta. I begged him for his recipe and still make it that way. Whenever I serve it at parties, people love it and I always mention that it is my friend Pat's recipe. Toward the end of spring semester, my apartment lease ran out and Pat generously offered to let me stay at his home until I finished the term. We had a fun time and got along famously.
Since then we have only met in person a few times but have stayed in contact by phone and email. I wish things had been different because I am sure we would have had countless adventures together.
I have travelled a lot and met many, many people. I can honestly say Pat was one of the nicest. My mother always told me that no one said life was fair. Pat's passing is a reminder she was right. If it was fair, Pat would have lived to be 150.

I had the pleasure of knowing Pat over 50 years. From our days at St. Bonaventure Grad School, through several reunions with remarkable friends, and my most recent visits with Pat and Carolyn. He was an exceptional friend. He took the responsibility of keeping our little Bonaventure group together and for that I am truly grateful. It is impossible for me to single out any one of times together. Each one brought great many laughs and sharing the multiple paths in our lives. I also had the pleasure to meet his folks. I remember that family Italian dinner when I thought I was full after the first past dish.
I will miss Pat, and I will always remember him in my thoughts and when I see a racing car, a Physics formula, a model train, or a beef on weck sandwich, he will know it is me thinking if him.

I first met Pat when he was running the computer center at St. Bonaventure University. We quickly developed a close friendship. Over the years, we enjoyed playing basketball and "paper" ball, but my fondest memories are of our visits to Watkins Glen Race Track for the Formula 1, Can-Am, Camel GTP and other categories of races. There was also a memorable road trip to the Pocono track to watch a NASCAR race. It was during that trip that Pasquale showed me that you could warm a piece of leftover pizza by putting it under your hat. I remember how much Pat enjoyed photographing the cars and studying the techniques the drivers used for passing or holding off the competition. I also remember how thrilled Pat was when he finally was able to buy his first Ferrari. I remember pizza parties at his home in Olean, how much he loved his dog, Avatar, and how faithful he was to his friends. We lost contact over the years, but I was still saddened to hear of his passing. He was a very special gentleman and he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

40+ years of friendship with a man who is an exceptional human being, who is fun, honest, great sense of humor, integrity, a loyal friend, and the most intelligent, kind, compassionate person there is. Lover of NASCAR at Watkins Glen International, Ferrari, Formula 1 races at Montreal, meeting Mario Andretti in Nazareth, Pa. and he loved model trains. I could write a book on working together at Corning Inc.'s VAX Support Group, fun lunches at Aneillos for pizza or hot dogs & ice cream at Jim's. He did the pictures for my July 1988 wedding. I attended his and C arolyn's beautiful wedding. Many fun lunches at their house or Tag's. Lots of Golden Retrievers! "ALLIE"!!
KODA! They would've all greated him by now. So many memories, and I am grateful for each one. GOD BLESS YOU & RIP Pat, sending you my love and prayers, Carolyn !
