Father Ed was an Associate Pastor at St. Stephen's which was my home parish when I was growing up in Geneva. He was in charge of the altar boys and taught scores of us how to serve Mass. Due in large part to his Irish sense of humor and his innate good nature he was beloved by all of the parishioners and was very missed when he left for his next pastoral assignment. I reconnected with him when I was a young attorney in Elmira and he was assigned at the Elmira Correctional Facility. He was a truly holy man and his loss will be deeply felt in every community that he touched. God Bless, Father Ed!
