Ralph and I worked together at SRU High School in the 1980s. Ralph was an extraordinary teacher. He was loved by all of his students and by the entire staff of the school. Ralph was a jolly, affable man who brought joy to the school with his effervescent personality and wild sense of humor. He was the ultimate practical joker who kept us in stitches much of the time. He carried his joy of living into his classroom, having fun with the kids while teaching them at the same time. He was admired and respected by all who came in contact with him. We were sorry to see him go to Troy but our loss was their gain.
My most sincere condolences to Bonnie, all the members of his family, and all of his friends. Ralph was a true gem and he can never be replaced. With Ralph's passing we have lost a kind, caring, and compassionate man who always put others before himself. Ralph touched the lives of so many students during his brilliant career; they are his living legacy. May he rest in peace forever in the arms of the Lord.

Bonnie and family,
So sorry to hear the news of Ralph’s passing, but it was wonderful to hear about all that he had accomplished in life since we met in 1967 at the A&P plant. Ralph welcomed me and other college students and introduced us to working in the real world. I loved his positive attitude and sense of humor. It was great to have known him.

Someone told me once that the passing of your favorite teacher would impact you more than you’ll ever realize... that is so so true.
My heart hurts reading of the passing of Mr. G this morning. He was the definition of a passionate and dedicated teacher! He loved his students and we all loved him. Mr. G was my high school history teacher and, if you know me at all, you can understand how impactful he was in contributing to my love of history. RIP Mr. Gestwicki and Thank You for giving so much of you to so many of us. Sending prayers and love to his family.
