Obituary of Richard F. Hackett

Elmira: Age 76, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his home. Dick was born May 31, 1938 a son of Pearl (Ripley) and Ernest Hackett. He is predeceased by brothers, Vinnie Appleby, Ernie J. Hackett, sister, Ruth Brooks, grandsons, Nicholes Kozemko, Nathanial Waters and stepson Ted Farmer. Dick is survived by the mother of his children Ellen Hackett of Pine City; daughters, Tina Hackett and Elizabeth "Buffy" Christman, both of NC; grandchildren, Krystal Kozemko, Marissa Wilson and Karli Wilson; siblings, Robert Appleby, Harold Appleby and Joyce Messino; step-children, Richard Farmer of Elmira, Denis (Nora) Farmer of Syracuse, Babie Reece of LA, Raymond Farmer of Kansas City MI, Terry Farmer of Elmira; along with many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dick was a U S Army veteran. He worked for many years at Trayer Products. Dick enjoyed fishing, painting, woodworking and listening to country music. His funeral service will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira. Military Honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the service. Interment will follow at Alder Run Cemetery, Millerton PA. Those wishing may remember Dick with a donation to Chemung ARC, 711 Sullivan Street, Elmira NY 14901.
