Obituary of Barbara Irene Golata

Elmira: Age 86, born January 7, 1928 in Syracuse NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was the daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred (Palmeter) Case, Sr. She is also predeceased by brother, Clifford Case, Jr. and sister Janet (Case) Renko. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph W. Golata, Jr.; daughters, Kathleen (Dennis) Andrews of Melbourne FL, Christine Taylor of Newport News VA; brother-in-law Frank Renko, sister-in-law Donna Case; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bernard and Jean Rutzke; along with many loving nieces and nephews, most especially Susan (Charles) Woods and Julie (Renko) Shanks. Her grandchildren also survive her….Christopher (Cynthia) Harsh of Wasilla AK, Theodore (Alana) Andrews of Ft. Pierce FL, Timothy Taylor of Newport News VA, Tracy (Keith) Grayson of Newport News VA; and nine great grandchildren in VA and FL. There will be a private family Mass and burial. The Golata Family wishes to extend their eternal gratitude to Debbie Troccia, Barb and Joe's "special angel" whose care and devotion was lovingly lavished on Barb during her illness. We also want to thank the nurses and staff on the 3rd floor of the Chemung County Nursing Facility for their wonderful care.
