Obituary of David Long

Elmira: age 84, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014. David was born November 11, 1930 in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. He is predeceased by his wife Gene Power Long. David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nikki Long with daughter Rebecca (Michael) Brown, all of Maple Valley, WA; daughter and son-in-law Meredith and Ertis Bradley of Edinburg, TX; special niece Susan (Joe) Dreher of Falmouth, ME; many other nieces and nephews; dear friends Kevin and Allison Christofaro with their parents, Brenda and Rick Christofaro of Elmira, NY. A man of many talents, he was an engineer, an Inventor, and a pilot. David holds many patents for his inventions and did pioneering work in the field of automotive fuel injection. He could repair or build just about anything and was always happy to do so for his family, friends and neighbors. David will be missed, but his family takes great comfort in knowing that he will once again be with his beloved wife in heaven. Friends are invited to St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by David's Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Honoring his service in the U S Air Force, military honors will take place outside of the church immediately following the Mass.
