Although she lived 3000 miles away from me while I was growing up, I have wonderful memories of my Aunt Betty. We all waited in excited anticipation of her summer visits, calling my Grandmother's house constantly with "are they here yet"?
We loved playing Hollywood Rummy with her … and she always won! If we played when Betty wasn't around, we always reference her when we would disagree on the rules, stating that Betty would have done this or that. Because in our minds she invented the game.
Even though we were part of her extended family miles away, she never forgot a birthday, and we always looked forward to her $2 bill inclusions.
I will never forget her comforting hug after my Grandmother's passing, when saw that I was having a hard time.
She never had an unkind word or raised her voice. I will miss you Aunt Betty, you were one of a kind.
