Obituary of Ann M. Falvey

Age 83 of Wellsburg NY and formerly of Wethersfield CT, passed away peacefully in Horseheads NY on Monday, December 30, 2013. Ann was born on December 11, 1930 in Boston MA, daughter of Dr. John and Genevieve (Hickey) Hopkins. She was predeceased by her son Paul Falvey. Ann is survived by her children and their families, William Falvey, Cortland NY; Susan and George Mattice, High Point NC; Robert and Sharon Falvey, Wellsburg NY with his daughter Jessica; George and Kathy Falvey, Franklin MA with their children Anna, Tara and Zachary; granddaughter Andrea Falvey (daughter of Paul), Jacksonville FL; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Esther Hopkins, Hampton NH, Rick and Evelyn Hopkins, Florida; sister Jane Hopkins, San Francisco CA; along with several nieces and nephews. She was a proud graduate of Regis College in Weston MA and was active with the college alumni. Ann worked in the insurance industry for many years. She was an avid tennis player, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and had a great sense of humor. Her greatest joy was time spent with family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home, Elmira NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory may be directed to Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 North Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago IL 60601.
