Obituary of Linda Lou Ostriche

Caton: Age 68, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 29, 2013. Linda was born in Elmira on December 6, 1945, a daughter of the late Chris and Ida May (Pruyne) Granger. She was predeceased by her husband Mathew M. Ostriche Jr. and son James R. Craven II. Linda is survived by her loving grandson Mathew Craven; loving granddaughter Emily Craven; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Carol Granger; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Forrest Vanderpool, Kay Roof, Christine and Francis Sutton; nieces, Willow, Destiny and Alyssia Roof who were her special friends. Also surviving are several other nieces, nephews and in-laws. Linda retired from Elmira Savings Bank with 21 years of service. She was a member of the Elmira Kiwanis Club. Linda's strength to overcome illnesses she suffered was amazing because her love for others and their needs surpassed her own. She will be missed beyond words by those who loved her. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 12:00 noon. Private burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations in Linda's memory may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
