"Dutch"
Age 85, of Elmira and Keuka Lake, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Dutch was born February 3, 1925, the son of Edward and Florence (Nixon) Rohde. He is predeceased by his wife Isabelle Hall Rohde, daughter Jennifer Rohde Saucier, brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Grace Rohde and James and Winifred Rohde. Dutch is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Hank Glowaski of Elmira Heights; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Kalec of Horseheads; aunt Betty Jane Brown of Elmira; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dutch was employed by Remington Rand for 28 years. He then went to work for Chemung Canal Trust Company working at the Westside Branch before going to the Main Office where he eventually became the Head Teller. Dutch retired from the bank after 21 years of service. An active member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Dutch would help out counting the collection after the weekend masses. He loved the time spent with family and friends at Keuka Lake. Dutch will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and true gentle man. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
