Obituary of Lena M. Lucci Scholz
Elmira: known to many as Teenie, passed away at the Chemung County Nursing Facility on October 23, 2024, after a brief illness, at 95 years of age. Lena was born in Elmira, a daughter of Domenico and Catherina (Lamantea) Lucci. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband Harry Scholz; sisters and brothers-in-law, Saunte and Ronald Earl, Mary and James Whitford, Dominick Tomassi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Philip Lucci, Angelo and Catherine Lucci, Dominic and Salla Lucci, Joseph Lucci; nieces Barbara Lucci Sandlok, Cynthia Lucci. Lena is survived by her sister Jennie Tomassi and sister-in-law Alyce Lucci; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lena retired from the Westinghouse Corporation. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, now The Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
Per Lena’s request there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Lena on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 10:00 a.m., St. Patrick’s Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. Interment, with committal prayers, will follow at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery.
