Age 76, passed away peacefully at Bethany Manor in Horseheads on Sunday, October 13, 2024.  Ann, daughter of the late George L. and Elizabeth Callahan Johnson, was born in Rochester NY and lived in Newark NY.  She is survived by one cousin and his wife, Thomas and Roz Bird of Seattle WA and many cherished friends.

Ann was a 1972 graduate of Elmira College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.  She had a long career in real estate in the Elmira area working with Shoemaker Better Homes and Gardens which later became Prudential Ambrose Shoemaker Realty.  While working in real estate, Ann also worked at J. C. Penney’s in Horseheads for many years.  In 2010 Ann converted to Catholicism and she enjoyed attending Mass in both Elmira and Horseheads churches.  Active in the community, Ann had been a volunteer at the Chemung County Historical Society and the American Red Cross.  She was a member of the DAR – Daughters of the American Revolution - since 1973.  Ann enjoyed the many summers she was able to spend with her family at Sodus Bay.  She had a beautiful smile and was always willing to help anyone in need.  Ann also had a special love for all the cats she had over the years.
