Obituary of Caroline A. Barron

Age 93, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Bethany Manor in Horseheads NY.   Caroline was born in Elmira and raised in Watkins Glen.  She was the last surviving of five children born to Julius and Lillian Reidy Janowsky.  Caroline was predeceased by her loving husband Donald L. Barron who died on March 28, 2024, weeks short of their 70th wedding anniversary.  She was also predeceased by her siblings, Ed, Julius, Charles and Doris Janowsky.  Caroline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marlene and Chris DeLoria; daughter Jeannette Winiecki with Bob Stewart; son and daughter-in-law Todd and Priscilla Barron; grandchildren, Jessica (Wade) Zahnd, Zachary Winiecki, Shannon (Chad) Hammond, Nicole Barron and Gregory Barron; great grandchildren, Autumn Kemp, Daxton Hammond and Adaline Zahnd; several nieces and nephews. 

 

Caroline was a graduate of Watkins Glen High School.  She went on to earn her degree as a Registered Nurse at the Arnot Ogden Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked at the Arnot for several years.  Caroline loved to sew, cook and always enjoyed talking to people.  She was a great mom and grandmother.  Her family was her whole world. 

 

As per her request, there will be no services.  Caroline will be placed with her husband at Woodlawn National Cemetery.
