William J. Cusick
Age 72, of Elmira, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, August 29, 2010. Bill was born November 15, 1937, a son of the late Dr. William J. and Doris (Conboy) Cusick. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his infant son Timothy David Cusick, twin brother Francis "Bud" Cusick, and brother Danny Cusick. Bill is survived by his beloved wife Diane Lampilia Cusick, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 1st; children, with their families, Daniel P. and Patricia Cusick of Gig Harbor, WA, with children, Rachel, Adrian and Joey; Elizabeth A. and Jeff Quick of Salt Lake City, UT, with son Glen; William C. and Tara Cusick of Elmira, with children, Jacob, Bridgett, Abigail, and Eva; great-grandchildren, Kollin and Kaden; sister Dee Hayes Overton of Elmira; mother-in-law Jane Lampila of Elmira; sister-in-law Molly Cusick of Elmira; brother-in-law David Lampila of Hornell; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill's greatest love was family and his family now treasures many special memories that they hold close. He was a U S Marine Corps Veteran. He retired as Shipping Manager for Libbey Glass in Toledo, OH. After his retirement Bill and Diane moved back to Elmira, where Bill worked part time as a Security Guard for St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a member of the E.J. Brewer Marine Corps League Detachment, a member of the Msgr. John J. Lee Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Bill was the type of man who made friends easily and he will be missed by all the people whose lives he touched. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Those wishing may remember Bill with a donation to the St. Mary's Church Restoration Fund, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, NY 14904.
