Age 82, entered into eternal peace at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 with her family by her bedside.  Winnie was born in Endicott NY, a daughter of the late Hal and Regina Larkin Van Auken. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Gerald J. “Jerry” Agan; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Margaret Agan with their children, Kate, John and Rebekah; son and daughter-in-law William and Chyllene Agan with their daughters, Madigan, Meg and Mairin Agan; daughter and son-in-law Julie and Patrick Aquilio with their sons, Jacob, Nathan, Lucas and Matthew Aquilio; sister Rita DelSanto; ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,  Daniel View, Daniel Agan, Richard and Carol Agan, Sharon Agan, Joseph and Marion Agan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, Winnie is predeceased by her sisters, Marion Stone, Alice Ellis and Marcella View; brothers, Robert, Donald, Wayne, Harold and James Van Auken; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Catherine and Joseph White, John and Joyce Agan, Robert Agan.

Winnie dedicated nearly 50 years of her life to nursing, spending much of her career working in the intensive care unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Throughout her career, she saved many lives and provided comfort to countless patients who didn't have the fortune of having loved ones present at their deaths. Her unwavering love, selflessness, and dedication to her profession touched the hearts of all who knew her. As a loving wife, she shared many wonderful years and adventures, including a trip to Ireland, with her husband. As a mother, she was a constant source of support and unconditional love to her three children. Winnie was also a very proud grandmother and had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren. The highlight of her year was Christmas, when she would often get to see them all gathered beneath their bulging stockings hung on the stairway. Her house was always open to everyone, and many of her children’s friends enjoyed having a second home and her as a second mom. In her leisure time, she was an avid reader and loved reading all types of books. She also enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzles from all of the newspapers.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she impacted. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
