Obituary of Brenda Leigh (Crom) Johnson

Age 63, passed away at her home on Saturday June 29, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. Brenda was born in Mount Kisco NY a daughter of J. Oliver Crom and the late Rosemary Vanderpool Crom.  In addition to her father, Brenda is survived by her loving husband Peter T. Johnson; son James J. Johnson of Foxboro MA; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Nancy Crom of Bluffton SC; sister and brother-in-law Marie and Rob Ringler of Austin TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her Kiwanis family.

Brenda worked for Dale Carnegie Associates in Melville, NY, retiring to Elmira, with Peter, where she joined the Elmira Kiwanis Club, and became a very active member. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Brenda’s name may be made to the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, 3636 Woodview Trace, Indianapolis IN 46268.
