Mary Claire Klugo
Age 71, of Elmira, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Mary Claire was born in Elmira on June 10, 1939, a daughter of the late William H. and Mary Alice (Morgan) McGill. She was predeceased by her brother Robert M. McGill. Mary Claire is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth A. and Rocco Savino of Auburn NY; nephews and nieces, Michael Savino, Karen Savino, Gary (Laurie) Savino, David Savino with fiancée Lynnette Hatfield, Margaret Savino; great nieces and great nephew, Meghan, Ashley, Erin and Michael "Drew" Savino. Also surviving are several cousins and many good friends. Mary Claire was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She worked for over 40 years in the accounting department at Westinghouse which later became Toshiba and finally IST. Mary Claire was a devout catholic; she was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish and enjoyed worshiping at Mount Saviour Monastery. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and White Eagle Club. Mary Claire was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed riding with her nephew David. Mary Claire would like to give "Special Thanks" to her friends of the "57" Dinner Group for "always being there" for her. Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 9:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery.
