Please share a memory of Dr. James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dr. James F. Agan Jr. PHD, beloved husband, father, son, brother, papa, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the age of 68. His sudden departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled.

Born on March 6, 1956, James, known affectionately as Jim, led a life of service from a young age, joining the United States Navy after high school. He served aboard the USS Independence for 3 years before being honorably discharged.

After his time in the Navy, Jim embarked on a professional career in the human services field, where he dedicated himself to helping others in need. He worked in several capacities, developing programs and initiatives to support individuals and families facing challenges. Jim's passion for making a difference in the lives of others led him to spend over 35 years at Pathways Incorporated, where he served in various roles, ultimately retiring as the Chief Operating Officer. His tireless dedication and compassionate leadership touched the lives of countless individuals and left a lasting impact on the community.

Jim and Linda Agan shared a bond that transcended time, celebrating nearly 45 years of marriage. They were not only spouses but best friends, finding joy in each other's company every day. Their shared travel adventures brought them closer, creating cherished memories along the way. Their love extended to their revered grandchildren, Ryan and Audrey Agan, and Connor and Evan Miele, whom they adored. Family gatherings were a highlight, filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished moments.

As a father, Jim was a pillar of strength and wisdom to his children, Jared Agan and his wife Elise, Laura Miele and her husband Matt, and Ashley Agan (John Hughes Jr.)  He guided them with patience, encouragement, and unconditional love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and integrity that will endure through generations.

In addition to his roles within his family, Jim was a cherished friend to many. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Agan Sr. and Mary "Babe" Agan (Savino), and his sister, Vickie Agan. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Agan; his children, Jared, Laura, and Ashley; and his siblings, Debbie (Dan) Donovan, Donna (Don) Bennett, Susie (Pat) Ervin, Mimi (Dave) Clark, Terese (Jeff) Hoffman, Mark (Cathy) Agan, Linda (Harry) Shornstheimer, and his “9th sibling” Jim (Mary) Pirozzolo.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Jim will forever live on in our hearts, remembered for the love, laughter, and light he brought into our lives.
