Tom was the best neighbor, kind friend I have ever known. He was always the first person to help when needed. He always had a good story to tell, a friendly smile and a helping hand. He will be missed not for the help but for the friendship he gave. I always told him he was the mayor of Davis St., he would laugh and say no no. But he was. He will be missed.

Diane, I think I probably met Tommy when he was no more than 12 as your funny and friendly little brother, but very wise beyond his years. And it was obvious how much he loved his family and how much you loved him. I am sending tears of love and many prayers for blessings and comfort for the Wilson family and all of Tommy's dear friends knowing how much he will be missed.

Tom and I were freshman wrestlers together in 1971 at SUNY Oswego State. He was not with me long that year as he would soon be drafted into the military. He instead joined the US Marines. In January 1973, he was back at Oswego and reunited with the wrestling team. That was the start of our great friendship. We were roommates my senior year. In 1977, we shared a house in Buffalo, NY as we were both doing post graduate work at SUNY Buffalo State College. He became close to my family and despite the fact that I had four brothers, Tom Wilson was the best man at my wedding in 1980. He was an extra brother to me and my family and he often visited my parents even when I was absent living out of the state. He attended many Caterisano family events and also came to visit my mother in the nursing home on several occasions bringing his wife and children. There was something about Wilson. He had great character. I often turned to him for counsel. He was a wise man, a great teacher, fantastic father and family man, an innovator and builder, a talented athlete, a good citizen and patriot and hands down the best person to hang out with. I feel blessed to have known him and I am very grateful that he was my friend.

Tom Wilson were the first and one of the few individuals from high school who had the most positive impact on my son Mitchell, first as his wrestling coach and later as his friend. You taught him some valuable life lessons about competition and teamwork. You showed him a kind heart. We will always remember the day you showed up to coach him during a private tournament outside of the school events. He didn’t know you were coming but he knew that day you cared about your boys on the team. Later in life whenever he saw you out & about he would buy you a beer knowing he could never give back to you what you gave to him and many others like him. So here’s to you Tom Wilson. I know you are reaping your well earned rewards at those pearly gates.

He was an awesome guy…. Made me laugh many a Xmas eves on Davis street. He will surely be missed. One of funniest things I ever heard was his busting chops of teachers going back to work first day the year after he retired. He was sitting in a chair at teachers door in full fishing gear with his fishing pole. Wow that must have been so funny. Never a dull moment with Tommy. I’ll miss you terribly buddy. See you on the other side.
