Mickey, my wife Mildred and I were graduate assistants in rhe Duquese U English department in 1958-60 and Mickey was one of the bridesmaids at our wedding in 1960. I remember her as intelligent,cheerful, faithful to friends and family, always ready for the next adventure, and passionately devoted to the arts. She was a bright star in our firmament and I will miss her. We followed her career at National Geographic and were proud of her work there.

I was lucky to have Mickey as my mentor when I joined the Research team at National Geographic Magazine. She was endlessly patient in training me for the job, but I learned the most from watching how she treated people. Micky always spoke from a place of love, never saying a negative word about anything or anybody. And oh, how she loved to laugh and to tease! I'll miss my beautiful friend, but the times we shared will stay in my heart.

I was an English Dept. colleague of Mickey's at Marymount College and found her beautiful in every way. She was an inspiring teacher with very high standards and a gift for making literature come alive for students. She was so helpful to me as I began my first teaching job, and endlessly kind and patient. She was also a lot of fun and a loyal friend to many. She also was completely devoted to her family and loved her sisters and brothers above everything. Thank you, Mickey, for your beautiful life!

I have many wonderful memories I would love to share with you all but I am leaving for Florida Wednesday and will not be able to attend the celebration of her life. Mickey was a dear and valued colleague for 25 years. In the office or out at a social gathering of colleagues, Mickey always had a smile on her face, something positive to say about someone, and a thoughtful response to a question. She certainly lived a full life at both National Geographic and in her travels and hobbies. Mickey's spirit lives on. She was a quiet force during the best years of our lives.

I was just about 13 when I met Micki. I Loved her kindness, sense of fun, love of family and loyalty to her friends. We shared many good times thru our high school years. She was beautiful inside and out and will be sorely missed. Heaven gained a new (and fun) Angel .
