Obituary of Linda L. Cornacchio
Age 84 passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Linda was born in Elmira, a daughter of Herman and Mildred (Dillon) Dean. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Pasquale "Patsy" Cornacchio, son Christopher Michael Cornacchio, brothers, Edward and Richard Dean; grandsons, Michael Cornacchio and Caleb Howe; son-in-law James Robert Hooey, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Theresa and Lee Conklin, Tony and Marie Cornacchio, Joseph and Nellie Cornacchio, Sam and Ida Cornacchio, Irene and Sasa Messina, Grace and Bill Marrone, Lucy Rundell, and Jack Fisher. Linda is survived by her children, Kathleen Cornacchio Risso with husband Andrew … Beth J. Cornacchio … Patrick and Carol Cornacchio with their daughters, Nicole and Jessica … Michele Cornacchio Hooey with her children, Angela, Elaina (Michael) Peterson, Michaela and Lucas … Christy Cornacchio with her daughter Victoria (Jad Paul) Hansen; sister Sandy (John) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Reggie Dean and Kim Dean; great grandchildren, Mark Anthony, Noah Patrick, Wyatt Vincent, Wade Patrick, Ayden, Amara, Maizey, Arryanna, Anthony James, Amelia, Connor Michael, Ireland Elizabeth, Alexander James, Jeramya and Nevaeh; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Linda had worked at Remington Rand and Curly's Chicken House. She then operated a daycare, out of her home, for many years. Wanting to keep busy, she worked at the Christmas House after retiring from her daycare business. Linda enjoyed weekend road trips with her husband Patsy. One of their favorites were the casino trips to Atlantic City NJ. Linda cherished family and friends, always looking forward to the next family gathering at her home for good food and good conversation. She will be forever loved and missed.
Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. A private cemetery service for Linda will take place at Woodlawn National Cemetery.
The Cornacchio family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the 3rd floor staff at the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care they provided to Linda over the last 4 years.
