Age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Corning Guthrie Hospital, with her loving family by her bedside. Jackie was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late John and Jennie Hancock Traum. In addition, to her parents Jackie was predeceased by her first husband Charles M. Sampsell, son Scott Sampsell, sisters, Virginia Snyder and Bonita DiBello. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Albert R. Draht; children, Robin (Mark) Stewart of Hope, MI, Christopher (Sheila Carl) Sampsell of Hilton, NY, Heidi (Brian) Stalsonberg of Baldwinsville, NY, Amy Sampsell of Elmira; stepchildren Susan Draht of Horseheads and, Alan (Kym) Draht of Pine City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia and Charles Collins of Pine City, Susan Thorne of Hammondsport NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Jackie was a substitute teacher before becoming a welfare examiner for Chemung County in 1983. She was a member of the Common Time Choral Group, Southside Historical Society, American Red Cross, Steel Memorial Library, Meals on Wheels, and was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing may remember Jackie wish a donation to Meals on Wheels, 409 William Street, Elmira, NY 14901.
