Lowman: Age 88, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Dee was born in Elmira, raised and lived her entire life in the hamlet of North Chemung, a daughter of Alfred B. and Josephine (Jones) Martin. She is predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert L. Brown, daughter Debra C. Banks, grandson Christopher Brown, granddaughter Kaylee Banks, sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Jim Walker, and brother Al Martin. Dee is survived by her sons, and their families: R. Michael and Molly Brown of Corning with children, Allison and Susan Brown, Casey (Bryant) Woolcock and Devon (David) Wiener…Daniel P. and Mary Brown of Horseheads with children, Alexander (Brooke) Brown and Alicia Brown…David A. and Liz Brown of Pine City with children, Alan Brown and Julia (Alex) Gornbein… Debra's daughters, Jennifer Banks and Lindsey (David) Hayes…great-grandchildren, Maleah Banks, Keaira Frost, Lilly Gentry, Ethan Brown, Lennox Loysch, Kennedy Loysch, Addisyn Banks, Jenna Wiener, Katherine Gornbein; along with several nieces and nephews. Dee had a forty plus year career as a licensed practical nurse, working mostly at St. Joseph's Hospital. While working as a nurse she also had a forty-four year career as the Baldwin Town Clerk. All of this while raising her four children. While Dan and Dave were growing up she was a member of the Mother's of Twins Club. She was also a long-time active member of the North Chemung United Methodist Church. Upon her retirement Dee loved to spend summers on Lamoka Lake where she would enjoy sitting on the front porch birdwatching or reading a good book. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. with Pastor Chip Posse officiating. Dee's burial will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 12:30 p.m., at North Chemung Cemetery, Lowman. A special thanks to the Chemung County Home Health Care Team and CareFirst of Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben Counties.
