Obituary of Mary Helen Kibbe

Age 66, passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside on Thursday, May 19, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born in Elmira, daughter to the late George J. and Helen Johnston Kibbe. She was the youngest and last surviving of five children. She is predeceased by brothers, George Kibbe, I and Gary Kibbe; sisters, Sharon Palmer and Linda Wilbur. Mary is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse and Dani Shock of Pine City, Daniel and Trevor Shock of Campbell NY; son Cody Shock of Horseheads with fiancée Tonya Norton; daughters and son-in-law, Colleen Shock, Kelly and Jason Montgomery all of Black River NY; grandchildren, Gavin, Sofia and Wyatt Shock, Hannah Tucker, Jace and Corbin Montgomery; several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Mary had worked as a welfare examiner at the Chemung County Dept. of Social Services. She enjoyed keeping up her house and doing DIY projects. She liked a good cup of coffee, western movies, Lifetime movies, and country music. She had a knack of keeping in touch with family and friends. Mary enjoyed going out to brunch and shopping with her friends. Mary had a love for her children and her grandchildren. She would do anything she could for them. Her love of children led her to be a foster care mom for several years. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Mary that will be Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Elmira Correctional Facility Clubhouse, North Hoffman Street, Elmira, starting at 3:00 p.m.
