Elmira: Age 78, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, January 23, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held for Sheldon on Thursday, March 31, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship SDA Church, 1222 Lackawanna Avenue, Elmira. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Woodlawn National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Repast will follow right after the cemetery service at the Italian American Veterans Club, 1070 Magee Street, Elmira.
Sheldon was born in Brooklyn NY a son of William H. and Loretta (Kelly) Huff. He was a brother to John, Lorraine, William Jr., Donald and Barry. Sheldon was the father of Danielle, Seth, Barry Robert, John Henry, Lorraine, Sheldon Jr., Laura Kelly; and grandfather to Logan. He was a companion to Linda, Pamela and Nordia and uncle to David, Dawn, Darci, Nancy Lee, Matthew Jr., Susan and Kimberly.
Shelly worked for Tommy Hilfiger which inspired him to open his own store of vintage clothing named "Glad Rags". He embraced his Irish-Italian, Native American, and African heritage. Shelly was a faithful member of the 12-step program.
