Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that her husband, children and grandchildren announce that Patricia "Pat" A. Agan-Mailey, earned her wings on March 18, 2022. Pat, of Horseheads and formerly of Elmira, NY was 86 years old. Many of her loved ones were present as she passed. Pat, the second oldest of six children, was born in Rochester, NY to George and Esther (Merklinger) Morley. Pat was a graduate of the St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Elmira, NY. Upon graduating she moved to New York City to work at the VA Hospital before returning to Elmira where her long, compassionate nursing career stretched back to St. Mary's Elementary School and St. Joseph's Hospital. It was in Elmira where she had a loving 40-year marriage to her husband Tom who predeceased her in 1997. With her infant son Tim and while pregnant with Pam, she returned to Rochester for a period of time to care for her younger siblings when her mother, Esther, suddenly passed. She returned to and remained in Elmira where she and Tom raised their five children. To be close to her children, she was the school nurse with St. Mary's Elementary School and led the CYO girl's kickball team to several number one victories. Pat eventually worked for and retired from a long career with Southern Tier Plastic Surgery Associates. In retirement, she played golf and cards with good friends from her nursing school and career. When Tom passed, she reconnected and soon married Tom Mailey with whom she had 22 years of happiness. Pat loved her husbands, children and grandchildren dearly and will be greatly missed but always remembered for her warm smile and fun-loving nature. Pat is survived by her husband of 22 years, Thomas "Tom" W. Mailey, Sr. along with her children Timothy V. Agan (Jean Ann) of Bowdon, GA, Pamela V. Agan-Smith (Gregory) of Delmar, NY; Marjorie V. Steed (Daniel Woodruff) of Elmira, NY; Melissa V. Williams of Horseheads, NY; Nancy V. Agan (Woody Knowles) of Ormond Beach, FL; step-children Thomas W.
