Obituary of Felix Aragon

Age 83, passed away at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center on Monday, January 31, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Felix was born in Antigua, Guatemala a son of Jose and Alfonsa "Ramona" Aragon. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 52 years Diane Hutsick Aragon; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Dan Knuth of Elmira with their son Michael and grand-dog Curry … Monica and Robert Kelly of Saratoga Springs NY with their children, Eliana, Mateo, Nadia, and Isaiah Kelly; siblings, Marta Aragon, Lorenzo (Luisa) Rodriguez, Gustavo Aragon, Berta Aragon Castillo all of Guatemala; Joan Aragon of Las Vegas NV; along with several other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many loving nieces and nephews in both Guatemala and the United States. He was predeceased by brother Pepe Aragon Sr.
Felix was 27 years old when he moved to the United States from Guatemala. He was active all of his life. He was a professional soccer player while still in Guatemala. When he came to the US, he still played soccer while also enjoying several other sports that included swimming, tennis and running. He worked for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio before opening the Aragon Dance Studio on the corner of N. Main and W. Water Streets in Elmira which he ran for many years. After the closing of his studio, Felix went to work with The Cornell Dry Cleaner from where he retired with over 20 years of service. Felix was a loving, husband, father, uncle, friend, and he adored his grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Masks are required at the church. Committal services at Woodlawn Cemetery will take place at a later date. The Aragon family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff on 4D at the Arnot Ogden for the love and care provided to Felix during his stay in the hospital. Those wishing may remember Felix with a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.
