Obituary of Beth A. Farr

Age 55, passed away on Thursday, December 23rd, 2021 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Beth was born in Elmira, New York, daughter of the late Harold M. (Stosh) and Clara (Cain) DeRenzo. Beth is survived by her son and daughter in law Corey M and Sarah Farr of Pine City, along with their son, the joy of Beth’s life, Benjamin. She is also survived by her brother, Michael “Mickey” DeRenzo of Surfside Beach, SC; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and an amazing group of friends. Beth was a 1984 graduate of Southside High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Elmira College. She was the current director of the Near Westside Neighborhood Association, a position she held for over 20 years. Beth was a great fan of Elmira College hockey, a love she instilled in her son. She taught him to skate and spent many years as a single mother taking him to hockey games and practices. Being a mother was everything to her. The only thing she loved more than being a mom was being a grandma. She waited so long to be a grandma and Ben was the light of their life. She loved reading to him, singing and dancing with him and was always up for a grammy and Benny adventure. She loved her family and always made sure to keep up with both immediate and extended family. Beth was fiercely loving; she would do anything for those she loved. Her nickname was “Business Beth” as she was a very no-nonsense personality, but if she cared for you, she would use that power to move mountains. Beth loved to laugh, especially while watching Schitt’s Creek. She loved music, karaoke, she was always singing and dancing. SERVICES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED.
