Obituary of Marjorie Jean Richardson

Age 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Corning Hospital, after a short illness. She was born on July 1, 1927 in Louisville KY to Julius and Louise (Weston) Becker and was the fifth born of nine children. In 1948 she married Keith Richardson, the love of her life for 74 years. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, Clarence "Boo" Becker, Jack (Betty) Becker, Vincent Becker, and sisters, Caroline Cummins, Jane (Jim) VanCleave, Granddaughter Jeanette Crystal Brown and brother-in-law Kenny Chilson. Margie is survived by her children, Mary (Rick) Brown of Grafton OH, Steve (Steph) Richardson of Evergreen CO, John (Denise) Richardson of Clermont FL, Paul Richardson of Shingle Springs CA, Judy (Daryl) Spencer of Elmira NY, and Patricia Krauss of Pine City NY; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Joann Chilson, Judy (Patrick) O'Neil and brother, Wes (Maxine) Becker; numerous nieces and nephews. Marge was a long-time communicant at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, she was a member of the Legion of Mary for many years, and a volunteer at the Chemung County Nursing Facility (CCNF) for over 40 years, where she has resided for the past 7 months. The family would like to thank the staff of CCNF, especially the 4th floor, for their tireless efforts to provide care for both our mother and father during their time there. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial for Margie on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Masks are required at church.
