Obituary of Robert A. Forte

Age 92, of Elmira, passed away at his home surrounded by family Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Bob was born in Elmira, he was the youngest son of the late Domenic and Virginia (Solometo) Forte. In addition to his parents Bob is also predeceased by his wife Liboria Miele Forte in 2018, brother Joseph and son-in-law, James Diehl. He is survived by his daughters, Jean Goyette of Elmira with husband Alain and their children, Katie (Matthew) Cornacchio, Jonathan (Stacy) Goyette; Marianne Diehl with Jeff Beckwith and her children, Amy (Erik) Rominger, Kevin (Jennifer) Diehl; great-grandchildren, Lily, Ava, and Chloe Cornacchio, Lydia, Maxwell and Alec Rominger, Taylor Diehl, Amia and Giorgio Goyette; along with several nieces and nephews and his lifelong furry friend Stubs. Bob was a graduate of EFA in 1947. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1948 – 1952 with 8 years in the reserves. He retired from the Elmira Correctional facility in 1987. He was a very talented cartoonist and bird watching enthusiast. Bob was the epitome of what it took to be a father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all. His infectious smile and gentle soul will be missed dearly. Private family services will be held.
