Obituary of Michael Francis Tice

Age 44, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Columbus, as the result of an accidental fall. Mike was born in Elmira NY, son of Kathleen Tangorre Griswold and the late Clifford L. Tice. In addition to his father, Mike is predeceased by maternal grandparents, Frank and Irene Lagonegro Tangorre; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Julia Tice; and his faithful canine companion Moo. He is survived by his mother and step-father Kathleen M. and Lance Griswold of Elmira; sister and brother-in-law Kelly T. and Eric Siegel of Virginia Beach VA with their children, Isabella and Grayson; step-brother Neil Griswold of Elmira; step-sisters, Nancy Griswold of Monroe NY Christa Barrows of Dansville NY, Cayla (Jaime) Vega of Seguin TX; aunts and uncles, Robert and Susan Tangorre of Albany NY, Thomas and Jackie Tangorre of Texas, James Tangorre of England, Edward and Maryann Tangorre of Nassau NY, Corrine and Steve Manierre of North Greenbush NY, Beverly Miles of Elmira, Lewis Tice; good friends, Rose Miller of Elmira and Danielle Folk of Horseheads, Tom Reinhart of Columbus OH, David Ayers of Elmira and Danny Willete of Elmira; also surviving are many cousins. Mike was a 1995 graduate of Elmira Free Academy where he was on the swim team. He attended Mansfield University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Mike had been an avid bowler since his high school years. He was a big fan of both the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team and Buffalo Bills football team. Mike worked for over 20 years as an information technology technician in the Columbus OH area with a variety of companies most recently with Information Technology. His all-time favorite job was flipping hamburgers, as a teenager, at the Elmira Drive-In, while listening to music on his boom box. Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira, on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Private burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery at a later date.
