Obituary of Carolyn F. Moffe

Age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Elcor Nursing and Rehab Center. Carolyn was born and raised in Elmira, a daughter of Michaelangelo and Rose (Lucy) Cicora. She is predeceased by her husband George A. Moffe, siblings, John, Lucy Sassano, Joseph, Theresa (Albert) Masone, Anthony, and Rose Cicora; nephews, Albert, John Masone, James Sassano; her husband George’s four sisters and their husbands; and his five brothers and their wives.She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and her Scio Street neighbors; along with her beloved cat Bella. Carolyn was a payroll clerk for Bendix/Facet. She retired after 30 years of service. Carolyn enjoyed monthly luncheons with fellow retired employees of Bendix/Facet. She was a life long communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, until its closing and currently was a communicant of Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Carolyn was an honorary member of the Sacred Heart Ladies. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Carolyn on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., St. Patrick’s Church, 604 Park Place, Elmira. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic). Interment, with committal prayers, will follw at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Special thanks to Carolyn’s niece, Linda Masone, and her family, for their care and companionship. Their devotion to Carolyn’s well being throughout these many years allowed Carolyn to remain independent in her home until the first part of July. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Roberto Mauri, Stephanie Busch, PA, for their outstanding care of Carolyn; along with the Visiting Angels and Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation, for the compassionate care they delivered in Carolyn’s final days.
