Obituary of Norman F. Potter

Norman F. Potter Elmira: Age 71, a native of Sayre, PA., and longtime Elmira, NY, resident, died March 23, 2013. A 1959 graduate of Sayre High School, Mr. Potter earned a Bachelor's Degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1963. His career as a sales executive included more than 25 years with IBM, mainly at the company's Elmira office. Throughout his life, he spent most summers at Cayuga Lake with family and friends, where he enjoyed boating, fishing and water-skiing. Born on July 8, 1941, to Clark and Alice (Andrews) Potter, Mr. Potter is predeceased by his parents and brother, Lawrence. He is survived by his sister, Lois Hutter, of Sayre, and three children: David (Sarah), of Elmira, Cynthia Pridgen (Chad) of Cary, NC, and Brian (Megan) of Bethesda, MD. Mr. Potter's survivors also include five beloved grandchildren, Lucas Pridgen, Andrew Potter, Carter Pridgen, Claire Pridgen and Benjamin Potter, as well as nieces, Barbara Hutter, Suzanne (Chet) Brown and Nancy Hutter. His family will hold a memorial for Mr. Potter this summer.
