Elmira: Age 92 passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 with her loving family by her side. Fran was born in Elmira on January 4, 1919, a daughter of James and Marie Cosasenta DellaRocco. She is predeceased by her husband John C. Moffe and siblings, George DellaRocco, Jennie Barbieri, Yolanda Maloney, Rose Bruno, and Congetta Rose. Fran is survived by her sons, with their families, Nicholas J. and Irene O. Moffe of Horseheads with their children, Maria Moffa, Molly DellaRoman and Nicholas P. Moffe; John C. and Patricia J. Moffe of Center Valley PA with sons, Christopher and Peter (Kelly) Moffe; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Amelia Geesler; brother Louis DellaRocco; sisters and brother-in-law, Angie and Eldon Decker of Big Flats, Theresa Held of Rochester; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Romeo Moffe of Elmira, Ralph and Joan Moffe of Horseheads, Caroline Moffe of Elmira; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Fran had worked at Bendix, in Elmira Heights, where she had 25 years of service. A devout Catholic, she was a lifetime communicant of St. Anthony's Church, until its closing, and was a current communicant of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Fran was also a member of the Sacred Heart Ladies and a long time adorer at the Adoration Chapel at St. Casimir's Church. She loved to bake and knit, and was a regular contributor to the St. Anthony's Parish Festival. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Fran on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Fran's sons would like to give a special thank you to their cousin JoAnn Milazzo and Southern Tier Hospice nurse Kate Hembrooke for the wonderful care given their mother over the past several months.
