Ronald Lee Ogden
age 90, formerly of Elmira and Tarpon Springs, Florida, died May 16, 2012 at Bethany Manor after a brief illness. Ron was born in Marathon, New York on February 25, 1922, the son of Smith Eldred and Ina Belle Fuller Ogden. A graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Ron served his country during World War II with the 11th Army Air Force at Shemya, Alaska. After his return home, he served aviation for thirty-five years as an Air-Traffic Specialist for the Federal Aviation Agency. He is survived by his sons Ronald (Karen) Ogden of Elmira, Mark Ogden of Woodland Park, New Jersey, grand-daughter Caitlin (Brian) Stevens of Elmira, sister-in-law Helen Petty of Clearwater, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife of fifty-four years, Marie Caparulo Ogden, brother Clair Ogden, sister Mildred Unell, and grand-son Scott Michael Ogden.
A Funeral Service will be held at McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Sts., on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank the staff of Bethany Home Care and The Bethany Manor Stage Three Unit for their care and support.
