Big Flats: Age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019. Joe was born in Bradford PA a son of Angelo and Josephine (Campogiani) Piersimoni. He is predeceased by his grandson Joseph Scott Codding. Joe is survived by his loving wife Angela Camarco Piersimoni with whom he would have celebrated 61 years of marriage with on February 15th. He is also survived by his children and their spouses: Eric J. and Lisa Piersimoni of Indiana, Sue Ellen Codding of McComb MS, Bart A. and Suzanne Piersimoni of Elmira, Mark D. and Catherine Piersimoni of Tennessee, Thea J. Sobkowski of Elmira; sisters: Rose Remington of Georgia, Frances (William) Troutman of Virginia, Joyce Schaming of Bradford PA; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Joe was a U S Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was retired from Dresser Rand in Painted Post where he was a Mechanical Engineer. In his retirement years he was a senior safety driving instructor and also he helped folks with their income taxes. Joe enjoyed racket ball and bowling, playing into his 60's and was an avid golfer, playing into his 70's. He liked to cook and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and NY Yankee fan. Joe loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will forever be loved and missed. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joe on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at St. Mary Our Mother Church, Horseheads, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Spring in Bradford PA. Those wishing may remember Joe with a donation to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester NY 14620.
