Age 63, died Friday, September 21, 2018 in Elmira. She was predeceased by her parents Adolph and Cynthia (Bahr) Schlappi of Troy PA. She had a close and loving relationship with her family and is survived by her sisters, Joan Schlappi-Allen and family of Elmira; Judith S. Mancini of Pittsburgh, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. June was a member of Chemung ARC and lived for 29 years at the Clinton Street residence. For those who knew June she was a gentle spirit with a quiet voice, sense of humor and a concern for others. She was raised to do her best and did that throughout her life. June enjoyed her relationship with her sisters and her independence. She benefited, and got great pleasure, from her involvement with Chemung ARC friends and staff. June had worked at the Liberty Street residence and participated in a variety of programs over the years. A private family service will be held. Donations in June's name may be made to – Chemung ARC, 711 Sullivan Street, Elmira, NY 14901.
