Obituary of Dorothy J. Pulver

Age 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Bath NY, a daughter of the late Herbert and Alice (Stopka) Burgess. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by sister, Connie Scotchmer and "Mini", her Yorkshire Maltese. Dorothy is survived by her loving companion of 40 years, John J. Flanagan; son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Brenda Pulver of Shortsville NY; daughter, Sandra J. Palmer of Waterford NY; sister, Joyce Turner of Dundee NY; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Mary Burgess of Sonora NY; grandchildren, Justin Pulver, Tiffany Erb, Shawn Palmer and Darcie (Tom) Disonell; great-grandchildren, Nettie Erb, Hannah, Devin and Brendan Disonell; several nieces and nephews; and "Cocoa", her 9 month old Yorkshire Maltese. Dorothy was a 40 year employee of Schweizer Aircraft, retiring as an Assembly Supervisor, a position she took great pride in. She enjoyed her time spent at the cottage she and John had on Seneca Lake, where she liked to fish. Another favorite activity was camping with John at various camp sites around the area. Dorothy was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Dan Burgess, will follow at 6:15 p.m. Interment will take place on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
