Obituary of Mary B. MacKowiak
Age 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Mary was born in Rochester NY a daughter of Samuel and Anna (Cicero) Cappadonia. She is predeceased by her husbands, Samuel Biondolillo in 1969 and Edward M. MacKowiak in 2008. Mary is also predeceased by brothers-in-law, Victor Nelson and Ben MacKowiak, and sister-in-law Mary Philbin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Sam Balash of Elmira with son Michael (Amy) Balash; son and daughter-in-law Dr. Joseph and Annalise Biondolillo of Hamburg NY, with children, Christopher (Marietta Fernandez Lopez), Mathew (Erin Gilmore) and Marissa; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Garrison, Allyson, Carson, Lucía, and Haydée; sister Ann Nelson of Bayonet Point FL; brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Deborah Cappadonia of Melbourne FL; sister-in-law Dorothy MacKowiak of Pine City; along with several nieces and nephews. Mary worked at Westinghouse and later at the Elmira Heights Library, from where she retired. For many years Mary was a “snowbird”, spending half the year in Florida. She loved to sing, dance and travel. Mary was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Mary treasured all her times spent with family. She will forever be loved and missed. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 9:45 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Elmira Heights. Interment, with committal prayers, will then take place at St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. Mary’s family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at both, Arnot Ogden Medical Center, 4D and St. Joseph’s Hospital SNF, 5C for their wonderful care.
