Obituary of Daniel Martin Kennedy, Jr.

Of Port Saint Lucie FL, age 48, passed away unexpectedly in Florida on Friday, June 8, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident.  Dan was born in Elmira.  He is survived by his mother and step father Roberta “B.J.” and Lee McDonald of Big Flats; father Daniel M. Kennedy, Sr. of Fort Lauderdale FL; daughter Caitlin Catherine Kennedy with Lee Waldroff of Charlotte NC; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin C. and Nally Kennedy of Elmira with children Shannon and Brian; brother John B. Kennedy of Palm Springs CA; sister and brother-in-law Sarah J. and Douglas Taxiera of High Point NC with children Jack and Sophia; several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Dan was a 1988 graduate of Elmira Free Academy.  Shortly after graduation he moved to Florida.  Dan worked for Comcast for several years.  He enjoyed a good game of golf, was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, and was very proud of his Irish heritage.  Dan was devoted to his daughter Caitlin and was a cherished son and brother.  He will be forever missed.  A celebration of Dan’s life will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Jenny Fassett Cottage, 459 W. First Street, Elmira, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  At 3:00 p.m. Father Troy Preston will conduct a service.  Those wishing may remember Dan with a donation to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435 Route 352, Elmira NY 14903.
