Obituary of Albert E. Christofaro

"Al the Great" Age 91, a long-time resident of the Pine City and Elmira area, passed away at his home on Friday, November 3, 2017. Al was born and raised in Elmira, a son of John and Erminia (Cieri) Christofaro. He is predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and Frank Christofaro. Al will be missed by his family, children: Debra (Salvatore) Iacono of Duluth GA, Mark (Betsy) Christofaro of Ithaca, Joan (John) Angelini of Atlanta GA, Robert (Maria) Christofaro of Athens GA; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother John (Vickie) Christofaro, Jr. of Raleigh NC; along with several nieces and nephews. Al served his county in the U S Navy during WWII. He was self-employed as an electrical contractor for more than 45 years. Al was recognized for his bowling achievements by being inducted into the Elmira Bowling Hall of Fame. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, with committal prayers and military honors, will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery.
