Obituary of Ann Cavanaugh Morgan

Please share a memory of Ann Cavanaugh to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 84 passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 2, 2023.

Ann is survived by her husband of 65 years James P. Morgan; children: Daniel J. Morgan, Mary Beth (Martin) Conwell, Patrick (Linda) Morgan; grandchildren: Maggie Ann Conwell, Kathryn (Michael) Muldoon, Morgan (Erica) Conwell, Molly Morgan, Kevin (Medina) Morgan, Elise & Kira Morgan; 7 great grandchildren that she absolutely adored and hugged often.  Ann is predeceased by  her parents Martin J. Cavanaugh and Ethel Hartigan Cavanaugh; sisters, Theresa Walker and Peggy Tillinghast.  Her relationships with her nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and co-workers created bonds that lasted lifetimes.  If Ann liked you, she loved you and her love was intense.  She could give a look that made you know you were in trouble but that same look let you know you were loved.  Her family describes her as proud, beautiful, dedicated, blessed, radiant, cherished, humble, elegant, accepting, luminous, captivating and loving just to name a few.

Ann graduated from Southside High School.   She was a 30-year employee of the Arnot Medical Center as a Medical Technologist where she was affectionately called “Mother Morgan”.  Ann was associated with the American Heart Association in her early years and a long-standing member of the Ladies Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.  Ann’s Irish wit, wisdom, warmth and sparkling blue eyes will be remembered by all that knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, NY on Saturday, December 9th at 9:00 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic).
