Age 74 of Pine City passed away on September 11, 2023. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Jeanette McCarthy Deane. She was predeceased by her best friend and loving husband of 52 years, Donald H. Phillips, mother and father-in-law Duane and Helen Phillips, sister-in-law Loretta (Janeski) Deane, brother-in-law John T. Phillips, nephew Michael J. Phillips and niece Laura Pruitt of Port Charlotte FL. Marilyn is survived by her son John C. (Nicole) Phillips of Pine City; daughter Lisa Phillips (Robert McCoy) of Frisco, TX; 3 granddaughters - Alana, Anelina and Ariana McCoy. She is also survived by her brother Donald C. Deane of Elmira; sister Susan D. Deane of Punta Gorda FL, sister-in-law Eugenia Phillips of Elmira Heights, brother-in-law Charles A. (Donna) Phillips of Hudson NC; nephew, John M. (Jen) Phillips of Ellettsville IN; nieces Sally (Travis) Deane-Moshier of Painted Post NY, Tammy Deane of Hermitage TN, Theresa Coyle of Punta Gorda FL, Kim (Andy) Fielding of Clifton Park NY and Melissa (Dave) Noonan of Pine City; 9 great nieces and nephews along with many cousins in the Auburn and Syracuse area. Marilyn worked at various places, including Dalrymple Gravel & Contracting Co., Pal’s Sporting Goods, Elmira City School District and retired from GST BOCES – Bush Campus in Elmira after 26 years. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. A livestream of the Mass will be available through the Facebook page for Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, (https://www.facebook.com/ElmiraCatholic).
