Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nancy Marie (formerly Grosvenor) Fletcher, age 86 of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Elmira, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters, on August 29, 2023. Nancy graduated from EFA in 1954 and Rochester Business Institute in 1956. She worked as an Insurance Underwriter for Aetna Insurance in Syracuse, Travelers Insurance in Knoxville, TN and UNUM Insurance in Portland, ME, retiring in 2002.

Nancy was the person who welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. She loved her family and friends and was one of those people who thought “the more the merrier.” She loved to cook and was known for making the best mac and cheese, pasta salad, apple pie and so much more. There were no recipes, she just threw stuff together and it tasted like it came from a 5-star restaurant. Nancy was an avid Yankees fan and loved college sports, especially Duke and Syracuse Basketball. Nancy spent the last 9 years living in Raleigh, NC where she actively participated in senior activities, enjoyed southern hospitality, and made new friends everywhere she went.  She was affectionately known as Fancy Nancy and Miss Fletcher.

Nancy is survived by her 6 daughters and their spouses, Laurie & Patrick Loiacono of Pennellville, NY, Lynne & Marty Kelly of Pine City, Mary & Jim Moore of Holly Springs, NC, Christine Richardson & Ruben Martinez of Rapid City, SD, Andrea & Eric Seymour of Elmira, and Renee Bell & Michael Boykin of Rolesville, NC. She also had many bonus children who called her “Mom” and a special caregiver, Felice.

She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Curkendall, Jessica & Ronnie Kecman, Amanda & Adam Loehr, Megan & Dan Housel, Cullen Zukas, Christopher Zukas & Jimmy Russ, Ashley & Jason Ryan, Justin Richardson & Ciara Metz, Josh Seymour, Andrew Bell & Hailey Fuentes and Katelyn Bell, along with 9 great-grandchildren, Jason, Savannah, Lucy, Ian, Bryce, Willa, Lily, Landon & Harper.

In addition, she is survived by her 3 siblings and their spouses, Denny & Helen Fletcher of Conway, SC, Kathy & Jay Ginder of Ephrata, WA and Barry Fletcher of Elmira and her former spouse, David Grosvenor of Ithaca. She was predeceased by her parents, Angie & Andrew Fletcher.
