Obituary of Debra H. Johnson

Debra H. Johnson "Debbie" Age 63, of Elmira, NY, passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born in Elmira on March 6, 1949, the daughter of Dorothy Gregory Haskell and the late Ralph M. Haskell. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Johnson, grandchildren, Lauryn and Morgan Smith; former spouse, Ron Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Berneice Haskell; nephew Greg (Tammy) Haskell, niece Kristen (Jason) Alexander; aunts, uncles and cousins. Debbie was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Debbie worked at Realty USA and truly enjoyed her job. She had a gift of caring for others and did so by volunteering in many organizations, among them Habitat for Humanity, Director at Woodbrook, Arctic League, and many others. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and being there for family and friends. She loved animals, and truly adored her dog, Ralphie. Debbie's longtime friends, Wendy and Duke Carroll, along with many other friends, and the extended Johnson Family, were very important to her. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Debbie's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 130 Oakwood Avenue, Elmira Heights. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
