Obituary of Mary Anne Flemming

Mary Anne (Prunier) Flemming (1934 - 2012) Age 78, passed away on October 8, 2012, surrounded by the love of her family. Mary Anne was a graduate of Southside High School, College of St. Elizabeth and held a Master's Degree from New York State University. She was an Elementary School Teacher for 35 years at various schools in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, and most recently, at St. John the Evangelist School in Uniontown, PA. She was a long time member of St. John Neumann Church in Lancaster, PA. Mary Anne was born in Elmira, NY, August 27, 1934 the only daughter of the late Edward H. and Helen F. (Curtin) Prunier. She is predeceased by brothers, Joseph Prunier of Elmira, Dr. John Prunier of Riverside, CT and brother-in-law Dr. Edward Lane of Fayetteville, NY. Mary Anne is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Kevin Flemming and her 6 children and their spouses, Tim Flemming with Eric Sharp of New Orleans, LA, Peter and Carla Flemming of Belvidere, IL, Kevin and Nancy Flemming of Ashburn, VA, Julie Flemming of Basking Ridge, NJ, Matthew and Kathy Flemming of Medina, OH and Maureen and John Hodor of St. Simons Island, GA. She is also survived by brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Eileen Prunier of Elmira; sisters-in-law Frances Prunier of Elmira, Suzanne Prunier of Riverside, CT, Maureen Lane of Syracuse, NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Suzanne Flemming of Big Flats, NY; Charles and Madonna Flemming of Chatham, NJ; grandchildren, Colin, Caitlin, Michaela, Ethan, Ava, Drew, Bennett, Jackson and Grant; along with many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, NY, on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Committal prayers and interment will then take place at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Anne's memory may be directed to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001, or a charity of one's choice.
