"Jimmy" Age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Jimmy was born in Elmira, a loving son of the late Thomas and Helen (McCarthy) Donahue. He was also predeceased by his "special dad", Lee Hastings. Jimmy is survived by his loving partner Christine Tongue of Gillett PA and her family, children, Susan (William) Hawthorne, Michelle (Charles) Larrabee, Pamela (Mickey) Kreisler; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Jimmy is also surived by his "special mom", Patricia Hastings of Watkins Glen; loving brothers and sisters, John T. (Donna) Donahue of Apple Valley MN, Ann (Edward) Shive of Hamilton NY, Robert E. (Kathy) Donahue of Elmira, Mary V. Donahue of Horseheads, Brian J. (Karen) Donahue of Kirkville NY, Matthew (Deborah) Hastings of Horseheads, Andrew (Jane) Hastings of Plano TX, Mary (Kevin) Suits of Watkins Glen, Stephen G. (Tina) Donahue of Elmira; along with several nieces and nephews. Jimmy was a 1970 graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School. He then entered the military serving his country in the U.S. Army. Jimmy was a former employee of the Elmira Correctional Facility and was a memberof the Elmira Elks Lodge #62. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jimmy on Saturday, December 17, 2016, 10:00 a.m., St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Military honors will follow outside of the church. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Jimmy.
