Obituary of Robert Bradshaw

Elmira: Age 87 passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Bob was born in Wyalusing PA the son of Fern (Merrick) and Robert B. Bradshaw. He is predeceased by his brother Donald W. Bradshaw, sister June L. Smith, and long time friend and companion Vivien Brownell. Bob is survived by his sister-in-law Natalie Bradshaw of Richmond VA; and several nieces. Bob served his country in the U S Navy during WWII. He worked at Schweizer Aircraft for 35 years, retiring in 1993. While at Schweizer’s he was instrumental in organizing the UAW Local Union #1752 in 1966. Bob served as Negotiations Chairman and on the Executive Board of the union for many years. He was an avid bowler well into his 70’s, and also enjoyed playing golf. Bob was a life member of the Elmira Eagles Club Aerie #941, Watkins Glen Elks Club #1546, Big Flats American Legion Post #1612 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6083. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Big Flats American Legion, 45 Olcott Road South, Big Flats NY.
