Mary Lynough passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Mary was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Messina. She was predeceased by her husband Ambrose J. Lynough and daughter Kathleen M. Riddell. Mary is survived by daughter Patricia A. Lynough; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Susan J. Lynough all of Elmira; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband and daughter, Mary was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Anthony and sisters, Rose and Catherine. She was a long time communicant of Christ the Redeemer Parish at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Family and friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Elmira. Father Richard Farrell will be the celebrant. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. The family will provide their own flowers.
